15 km along the Elbe and up to Dresden Südhöhe

After a day of sight seeing in Freiberg, a small city close to Dresden, I decided to head out for a run. I took a bus almost all the way to Schloss Pillnitz and then ran back.

After getting off the bus, I ran for about 10 meters and then boarded a ferry to cross the Elbe, because the Elbradweg on the left side of the river is much nicer for running. The first 11 km of the run are really flat, in fact the first 8 km are all downhill. Once I entered the city center and made my way through Großer Garten it got more hilly and the last 3.5 km are all uphill. Towards the end I took a small detour to see the Bismarckturm Dresden.

Yes, you can stand-up-paddle-board on the Elbe. These two did it first upstream and then downstream.
