Every year, the local Mag 7 Race Series puts on the Goat Race as fundraiser for the cross country teams of the local high schools. The mascot of the race is a goat, seemingly for the rural nature of the race. There is usually a goat that one runs around at one of the two turn around points of the race, and there is also a goat waiting at the finish line. It was a beautiful summer morning and the race was a pretty laid-back event. The race started sharp at 8 AM and had around 100 participants.
